So, I think I am on a food kick. You may have noticed that the last several posts have been about food experimentation. Well, here are a couple more...
Salsa...if you want a really good semi-homemade variety look for Mrs. Wages salsa-making packets at your nearest grocery store or check at www.mrswages.com.
"Burritos" as Kj has named them...
1 can refried beans (black is great)
1 cup salsa
1 cup prepared rice
1+ cup shredded cheddar cheese
Mix and spoon into about 6 tortillas, wrap and cover with extra cheese. Oven bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Or individually wrap and freeze for later use. If you are going to microwave them, do so at 50% power.
Grape juice...I told my friend that I had made grape juice the other day. Hehehe, she said, "Oh, I have been thinking about making some lately." "Uh, no, I mean I actually made it." "Really!?" *** Kind of fun. I just bought some more cheap grapes to try it again. We'll see if the red grape variety is less "murky" than the green grape variety.
***Conversation not exact, basic ideas are the same, if you remember differently let me know!
Hmm...what else? I have plans to make another new recipe: Banana Oatmeal Muffins.
Only a bit related to food is the fact that we bought a new refrigerator. I went to a Family "convention" type thing and got a children's nutrition chart. Thinking it was like me infant nutrition chart I stuck it right onto the front of the fridge...well, the infant one was a cling, and this one was actually a sticker. AHHHH!! I thought I "scarred" the front of my new fridge! But using this trusty thing-finder (the internet), I was able to find a solution. Trying to be all natural I started with the vinegar solution, but ended up just using GooGone. Yeah, the fridge is again sticker free! I suppose I could have tried harder with just vinegar, but...
My last thought of the post. I love you, Mom. For all who are wondering my mom reads this via a printout via my mama #2, more commonly known as my mother-in-law. Both are grandmas extraordinaire! :)
